Extend your ERP System
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Warehouse operations are becoming increasingly complex, with customers and legislators demanding services like serial number and batch traceability. At the same time, many ERP systems struggle to optimise put away, picking and dispatch procedures to keep up with industry best practice.
The answer is to use modern warehouse technology to improve productivity and lower the cost of warehouse movements. Simple barcode scanning systems can deliver 20-40% improvements in throughput and reduce errors, delivering a return on the investment in under 24 months.
Integration in real-time with no modifications to your ERP system
We have developed a range of supply chain modules that can extend many ERP packages including J D Edwards, SAP, System 21/Aurora, BPCS, Movex and others.
Our software manages the integration and makes use of your core ERP transactions, so there are no changes to the ERP system and all additional supply chain functionality is managed within our supply chain modules. This means that your ERP investment is maintained whilst your business can meet the changing demands mentioned above. Moreover, our supply chain solution can be moved with you if you change to a new ERP system.
The Tiered Approach
Most ERP systems provide both standard Inventory and Warehouse Management modules but for a large or complex warehouse the Inventory module does not provide sufficient functionality. Alternatively the Warehouse Management modules are usually complex to implement and maintain.
Our supply chain driven approach is to simplify the solution by adopting an innovative Tiered solution. Whilst this separates the business functions, such as your ERP system from the complex operational functions in the warehouse, it intelligently maintains a highly integrated process and data flow interactivity behind the scenes thereby protecting your ERP investment.
WMS Features
Our WMS module will enhance the functionality of your existing ERP Inventory module to provide features such as:
- Suggested putaway movements
- Location Management
- Pick face replenishments
- Enhanced picking
- By zone
- Enhanced lot/location selection logic
- Pick to pallet/container including labels
- Perpetual Inventory Counts
- Warehouse Activity Prioritisation
- Marshalling lane management
- Space optimisation
- Resilience
Live Connection to your ERP system
Many dedicated Warehouse Management Solutions (WMS) fail because of over-complexity and insufficient training, both for operatives and managers. They are also usually off-line to the ERP system, and require periodic updates from it for validation purposes. By contrast, our Lean WMS solution has a live connection to your ERP system, exchanging information with it in a real time environment. Users can be trained quickly and the system can be up and running in a short time. All the above functions are designed to be configured and managed with minimal overhead and training, and provide high levels of flexibility.
